John 5
In John 5 we see a man who has a life changing encounter with Jesus. After being sick for 38 years he meets Jesus and is instantly healed. I saw two things from this event.
In John 5:6-7 when Jesus asks the man "do you want to be healed?" he responds by explaining why he has not been healed. He was focused on the problems, issues and challenges.
In John 5:8-9 Jesus tells him to "stand up, pick up your mat and walk!" and he is instantly healed. A problem that had hindered him for 38 years was instantly solved by Jesus. No matter how complicated our problems are Jesus can solve them.
We often focus on the many reasons why something can't happen. Rather let us look to Jesus who is able as John 5:20 says to "do even greater works than healing this man".
My prayer for today is "Thank you Jesus that you can solve any problem. Please help me not focus on the issues and challenges but to look to Jesus. I ask you to do even greater works in my life".
