John 1
Over the next 21 days at River Church we are reading through the Gospel of John. We are calling this 21 Days with John. I will be posting a quick thought every day from my reading and invite you to follow along. Today e are looking at John 1.
In John 1:29 Jesus was introduced by John the Baptist as "the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!". Then we see in John 1:12 that "all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God".
Jesus came not just to take away our sin, but also to bring us into a relationship with God. We can only find forgiveness from sin and have a relationship with God through Jesus. My encouragement is that you believe in and receive Jesus - ask him to take away your sin and grow in relationship with him.
My prayer for today is "Thank you Jesus that you came to take away my sin. Thank you Jesus that because I believe in you and have received you as my Lord and Saviour that I am now a child of God. Please help me grow in my relationship with you."
