John 4
In John 4 we see a woman who has a life changing encounter with Jesus. We see in John 4:39 that "many people from her town believed in Jesus because of her testimony". There is nothing more powerful than a testimony of how a life has changed because of an encounter with Jesus. We should share with others all that Jesus has done for us.
Then we see in John 4:40-41 that Jesus stayed with them for two days and "because of his words many more became believers". They then told the woman in John 4:42 "we no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Saviour of the world".
Jesus wants each of us to have a relationship with him based on what we have heard and experienced ourselves. Not just based on another person's testimony or experience. Jesus wants us to encounter him through his word. I am looking forward to seeing people at River Church grow as a result of reading through the Gospel of John over 21 days.
My prayer for today is "Thank you for testimonies I have heard of people who have encountered Jesus. I want to hear and experience you in a new way today. Please speak to people through the Gospel of John during our 21 Days with John at River Church."
